The pedestrian match in which a Mr Moorehead backed himself for £20, to walk 6 miles and a-half within the hour, came off yesterday on the Main-road. The ground which commenced from near the Washington Hotel, having been duly measured by a qualified surveyor, a start was effected about half-past four. There was a large assemblage to witness the feat which was finished only six seconds before the expiration of the time. Mr S. Waldock was the referee, and announced the result amid much cheering.
